In order to avoid any misunderstanding, my research is not linked in any manner to earthquake prediction. It should be stressed again that there is no way today to predict earthquakes.

My work and the one of the many research teams which work in the Himalayas have only identified a seismic hotspot in the area, as there are many others  around the world, for example, Tokyo, Los Angeles, or Istanbul. A seismic hot spot is a location where a large earthquake can be expected in time period of tens to hundreds of years.  Unfortunately, science cannot be  more accurate today. Again, this is not earthquake prediction.
